The StoriesInStone Philosophy
While reviewing the offerings of some of those who are providing the same type of service, it
occurred to me that the StoriesInStone service is different in some very important ways. Therefore I am stating the following as our philosophy.
All history, of course, is a matter of perspective. The creation of a “story” is filtered through the writer’s own personal history.
Ideally the history “story” to be displayed on one’s headstone would be the person's own creation, with the story intended to pass on their ideals, philosophies and unique experiences. That is why it is so important to record your own history. Ideal situations rarely exist.
It’s about family honoring a loved one!
It’s not about providing an avenue for tweeters and bloggers and it’s not a forum. It’s not for opinions or opposing views.
It should not be a vehicle for displaying information on the provider of the service – not
even a little bit.
StoriesInStone will not allow any changes/updates to the initially submitted story except by the originator. Updates by the originator will be accomplished by a complete overlay of the original (in other words the customer will supply a new “file” to replace the old one).
StoriesInStone encourages those who may have an interest in providing a version with a different perspective. They may do so by acquiring an additional QR coded tile or NFC tag, but making
changes to another’s file will not be permitted.
